The brief

undefined

Candidates in Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Siliguri and Sikkim are often the last to hear about central and state recruitment, because most national job portals barely cover them. The site had to do two things at once: cover big national exams (UPSC, SSC, railways, banking) well enough to compete on hard facts, and carry regional recruitment that North Bengal, Sikkim and North East candidates rarely see elsewhere.

How we approached the build

undefined

Information architecture first

We mapped categories before designing: government jobs, private jobs, state desks, results and admit cards, so every post has one obvious home and a predictable URL.

Templates that match how candidates read

Recruitment notices, results and admit cards each got their own article template, from full vacancy breakdowns to fast answer-first results and exam-day logistics.

Trust built into the template

Every article carries a source-verification line and a last-verified date by default, so trust signals are structural rather than an editor’s memory.

Utility pages that earn traffic

An age calculator, photo and signature resizer and PDF compressor solve real form-filling problems and link naturally into recruitment content.

What we built

undefined

LayerWhat it does
Category and tag systemGovernment jobs, private jobs, state desks and qualification tags such as 10th pass, graduate and B.Tech
Regional desksDedicated West Bengal, Sikkim and North Bengal sections edited separately from the pan-India feed
Organisation hub pagesStanding profile pages for recurring recruiters such as WBPSC, SSC and SPSC
Tool pagesAge calculator, photo and signature resizer, PDF compressor
Schema and discoveryGoogle for Jobs markup generated centrally through the plugin layer
Editorial trust layerNamed editors, a published verification process and a standing independent-publisher disclaimer

Why the structure matters for search

undefined

Job-alert content ages fast and is copied often, so the sites that hold their rankings add something the official notice does not have: local context, honest guidance and complete vacancy tables. We built the templates around that principle, matching reference portals on hard facts and adding labelled, non-invented context on top.

The result is a working editorial product, not just a template: an About page that names the people behind it, regional desks most national portals skip, and tools that keep candidates on the site.

FAQ

Questions about this project

Who designed and developed IndiaJobAlerts.com?

IndiaJobAlerts.com was designed and built by Darjeeling Informatics as a career-focused initiative. The site is edited by Sandeep Khati, founder and publisher, along with the state desk editorial team.

What platform is IndiaJobAlerts.com built on?

IndiaJobAlerts.com runs on WordPress. It uses a structured system of category pages, tag pages and dedicated tool pages, with schema markup for Google Jobs handled centrally through a plugin rather than inside individual articles.

Does IndiaJobAlerts.com only cover jobs in Darjeeling and Sikkim?

No. It covers central and state government recruitment across India alongside private sector openings, and also runs dedicated desks for Darjeeling, Sikkim, North Bengal and the North East.

Can Darjeeling Informatics build a similar job portal or business website for me?

Yes. We build WordPress websites for regional businesses, publishers and job portals, with the same attention to structure, internal linking and search visibility.
